Organizational Context

The Central Alberta College is a small liberal arts college with a student body of about 1500 students. The college’s main focus is university transfer programs and general Bachelor of Arts degree programs, but it also offers an after degree in Education. The Central Alberta College Library is a bustling centre of student activity, and includes a dedicated computer lab and numerous study rooms and spaces. The Library employs three librarians (including the Director), five library technicians and numerous student pages. The Director assumes overall management of the library, and reports to the Vice President Academic & Provost, who is generally supportive of all library endeavours, as long as the library does not overspend its budget.
