Point of Use Guide
Skill testing Questions
This instruction session was originally created for LIS 526, Instructional Strategies for Library and Information Professionals. It has been reformatted into html format to meet the capping requirments for the Master of Library and Information Studies program at the University of Alberta.
This assignment asked students to design and present an information literacy session based on a skill or tool. The session was comprised of four components: a verbal presentation, a point-of-use guide, assessment materials, and a final report.
For the purpose of this assignment, I chose to present on a resource centre that I had created for a nonprofit organization in the summer of 2005. I presented under the pretext that my class was the research team at this organization, and I was teaching them how to find resources using the new system.
