This study involves the use of human participants and as such approval will be needed from the Faculty of Education and Extension Research Ethics Board. Several ethical issues arise from this study. Participants will be given a gift certificate for their participation. Many of the participants will have poor English conversation skills. Steps must be taken to protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants. Participants will be assigned pseudonyms. The data will be seen by the transcriber and he or she will have to sign a confidentiality agreement. The data must be stored in a fire safe, lockable safe to be destroyed after five years. Please see appendices for detailed information on how these issues will be addressed.
